MOSCOW, April 26. The Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) officials are considering adding the Masters on turf tournament ahead of Wimbledon, L’Équipe reports. There are nine Masters events in the current ATP calendar: three on clay (Monte Carlo , Madrid and Rome) and six on hard (Indian Wells, Miami, Montreal / Toronto, Cincinnati, Shanghai, Paris). «Personally, I like the idea of holding the Masters on the grass and I suggested it to the ATP members. I like the concept of a big tournament of the Masters series ahead of Wimbledon. Obviously, this needs to be discussed among all participants, but this could be a way to make a big event in the UK «, — said the head of the Asia-Pacific Region Andrea Gaudenzi. Wimbledon in 2021 is due to be held in London from 28 June to 11 July. Last year, the competition did not take place for the first time since 1945.
