The Simonovsky District Court fined the producer of «Navalny LIVE» Lyubov Sobol 300 thousand rubles because of her performance on the air of «Echo of Moscow»> said her lawyer Vladimir Voronin. She was found guilty of repeated violation of the established procedure for organizing an uncoordinated action.
«Sable was found guilty of an offense under Part 8 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation (repeated violation of the established procedure for organizing or holding the action), she was assigned an administrative fine of 300 thousand rubles,» Interfax reports with reference to the court’s press service in Monday.
As reported, Sobol was detained in Moscow on April 21. According to a police report posted by her lawyer on Twitter, Sobol is accused of calling for an uncoordinated rally on the Ekho Moskvy radio station. The lawyer notes that «there was not a word from Lyubov about the rally on this air.»
On April 21, an unauthorized rally took place in several Russian cities in support of the convicted opposition leader Alexei Navalny. In the morning before the rally on April 21, policemen on the road took the oppositionist out of a taxi and took her away. The police department drew up a report on her because, in the morning show on April 19, she «called on an unlimited number of people to take part in the uncoordinated action on April 21» (part 8 of article 20.2 of the Administrative Code).
The police report did not quote her. The lawyer noted that «there was not a word from Lyubov about the rally on this air.» On radio, Sobol discussed the state of Alexei Navalny, the prosecutor’s office’s claim to recognize the organizations connected with the politician as extremist and the verdict in her case.
She mentioned that “no one wants to go to rallies, especially when the authorities threaten with clubs and people go to rallies out of despair,” without naming the date of the rally on April 21.
Together with Sobol, before the rally, they also detained Navalny’s press secretary Kira Yarmysh at the exit from the house; on the same day, because of posts in social networks about the action, she was arrested for 10 days (part 2 of article 20.2 of the Administrative Code).
