TOKYO, 7 Aug, Veronica Gibadieva. The Russian national synchronized swimming team won both types of programs at the Olympic Games, and Svetlana Romashina became the most titled synchronized swimmer in history. Romashina won gold as part of a duet with Svetlana Kolesnichenko. Victory in the group competition brought Romashina the seventh Olympic gold medal, the third to Alla Shishkina, Alexandra Patskevich, Svetlana Kolesnichenko, the second to Maria Shurochkina, Vlada Chigireva, the first to Marina Golyadkina and Polina Komar. / Kolesnichenko and their coach Tatyana Danchenko had to face problems – it was necessary to change the sketch of the swimwear for the short program. The image of a bear was removed from the sketch, replacing it with a balalaika. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) did not approve the sketches in connection with the sanctions on Russian sports, they saw in the bear a direct reference to Russia.
