MOSCOW, 11 Aug. The situation with coronavirus in Russia has stabilized, but so far it remains tense, Natalya Pshenichnaya, deputy director for clinical and analytical work of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology, told RIA Novosti.
«In some regions, there is now a continuing increase in the incidence, in some we see stabilization, and in some even a decrease in the rate of increase in cases is observed,» she added.
Pshenichnaya noted that the data are dynamically changing, but it is clearly clear that in the country as a whole, taking into account both relatively prosperous regions and those where the situation is still unfavorable, we can talk about a decrease in the weekly growth rate of cases. Over the past day, 21,378 cases of COVID-19 were registered in Russia. In total, 6 491 288 cases were detected in the country during the epidemic, of which 166 442 died, and 5 788 710 people recovered.
