MOSCOW, 12 Aug. The transfer by the Americans of large quantities of military equipment to Alexandroupolis in Greece as part of the Defender Europe exercise can be considered a signal to Russia, the Turkish newspaper Haber7 writes. The material clarifies that American ground forces have landed in the region along with a huge fleet of SUVs, tanks and helicopters. The landing of the military and equipment, as noted, is necessary to counter the Russian threat. At the same time, the weapons delivered to Alexandroupolis are offensive, not defensive, the Turkish journalist emphasized.
