The number of the «white» population in the United States has declined significantly.
The US Census Bureau has released new data on the population in the country and how much it has changed since 2010.
According to the Bureau's findings, the population in the United States has become more ethnically and racially diverse.
The report says that the percentage of the “white” population in the country has decreased, although it remains the most common racial or ethnic group in the United States.
“Part of the white population fell from 63.7% in 2010 to 57.8% in 2020, which is the lowest on record. This is due to declining fertility among white women. At the same time, the birth rate has increased among Hispanics and Asians, ”the message says.
At the same time, the Bureau notes, in California, Hispanics have become the largest racial or ethnic group — 39.4%.
In total, the number of Hispanics in the country jumped to 49.9 million.
“It surpassed the black population of 46.9 million. Asians became the next largest racial group, reaching 24 million in 2020. The Hispanic population increased by almost a quarter to 62.1 million inhabitants in 2020, ”experts said.
It is noted that over the past decade, US residents have actively emigrated to the south of the country.
