KIEV, 15 Sep. The Ukrainian authorities are ready to extend the contract with Gazprom for the transit of raw materials, said the head of Naftogaz, Yuriy Vitrenko, following negotiations with the German side. Thus, we must get guarantees that transit <...> will be preserved, «he said. The head of the company stressed that Kiev is ready to negotiate with Gazprom, which is known to the German partners. However, as Vitrenko noted, the extension of the contract does not in itself provide sufficient guarantees to maintain pumping through Ukraine. «This requires, first of all, contracts with European companies,» added the head of Naftogaz. On Wednesday, Vitrenko held talks on the situation with the transit of gas to the EU with a German delegation. It was headed by the Secretary of State of the Ministry of Energy and Economics Andreas Feicht. Ukraine intimidates Europe by stopping gas transit Russia and Ukraine at the end of 2019 extended the transit contract for five years: Gazprom guaranteed the pumping of 65 billion cubic meters of fuel in the first year and 40 billion in the next four. The head of the company Alexey Miller said earlier that Moscow is ready to continue cooperation based on the economic feasibility and technical condition of the Ukrainian gas transportation system. At the same time, last week announced the complete completion of the construction of the «Nord Stream — 2». The highway was laid bypassing Ukraine from Russia to Germany along the bottom of the Baltic Sea. The capacity of the two lines is 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year. It is planned to start operation by the end of the year. Kiev opposed the pipeline, fearing to lose revenues from the transit of raw materials, as well as the United States, which is interested in promoting its LNG to Europe.
