President of the Russian Premier League Sergei Pryadkin spoke in an interview about the intricacies of organizing the upcoming competition for the implementation of media rights, explaining why the league decided on such drastic changes, as well as revealing a number of details of the upcoming tender. The RPL recently announced the organization of a competition for media rights. — As far as we understand, this is the first time that media rights to the Russian league have been put up for a competition. Why did this happen right now? — Yes, at a recent meeting of the league's board, it was decided to enter the competition and determine the winner within the framework of a competitive procedure. This decision did not come spontaneously. It is dictated, first of all, by the market conditions, which have changed a lot over the past few years. Before making this decision, we did a lot of preparatory work, studied the features of the modern market, its economic aspects, trends, key players, audience indicators, etc. This work allowed us to assess the potential of the market and understand which solutions will be most effective.
