SpaceX launched civilians into Earth orbit for the first time. Video

A crew that will go down in history.

SpaceX has launched the Inspiration4 mission into Earth's orbit. Its uniqueness is that there are civilians on board.

The flight is scheduled to last three days. The start took place at 3 am Kiev time on September 16.

Musk launched civilians into space

Elon Musk's SpaceX launched Inspiration4. This is the company's first mission to Earth orbit, the crew of which is civilian, not professional astronauts.

As part of the mission, Crew Dragon was launched into orbit using a Falcon 9 reusable rocket. On board are:

  • Jared Isaacman is the founder and CEO of Shift4 Payments (e-commerce). By the way, it was this billionaire who paid for the flight in full.
  • Sian Proctor is a teacher.
  • Hayley Arsenault is a Physician Assistant at the Children's Research Hospital.
  • Christopher Sembroski is a veteran of the United States Air Force.

The idea of the flight is charitable: drawing attention to the work of the St. Jude Children's Cancer Research Hospital. Isaacman will give $ 100 million for the institution separately.

The Inspiration4 mission will certainly go down in history, because until now no civilian crew has been sent into space.

Liftoff of! Go Falcon 9! Go Dragon!
