MOSCOW, 17 Sep. More than 50 rare icons restored by specialists from the Orthodox St. Tikhon University for the Humanities (PSTGU) will be shown at the exhibition «Calling» in the Moscow Museum named after Andrei Rublev.

«The exhibition is dedicated to the 25th anniversary of cooperation between the Andrei Rublev Museum and the Department of Restoration of PSTGU, over the years more than a hundred icons have been restored, the exhibition presents more than 50 icons of the mid-16th — early 20th centuries from the museum collection, some of them are on permanent display of the museum , and some are presented to the public for the first time, «- told RIA Novosti the curator of the exhibition, head of the scientific and methodological work of the museum, Dionisy Denisov. The curator said that the founder and permanent head of the restoration department of PSTGU for many years was Galina Klokova, an honorary restorer of Moscow, who recently passed away. «This year should be a jubilee for Galina Sergeevna, this exhibition is a tribute to her memory,» Denisov noted. The exhibition will be held from September 16 to December 5.
