MOSCOW, 17 Sep. The newest Russian heavy flamethrower system TOS-2 «Tosochka» is capable of destroying American tanks. The journalist Sebastien Roblin writes about this in his article for the magazine The National Interest. The author of the publication emphasizes that Russia is currently conducting experimental operation of the novelty. Roblin draws attention to some design changes that distinguish the new modification from previous similar systems: now TOS-2 is installed on a wheeled chassis. This feature makes the system similar to the legendary Katyusha used during the Great Patriotic War. The novelty is also equipped with the latest aiming and fire control mechanism, which further increases the combat potential of the vehicle. The TOS-2 was also equipped with an electronic warfare system for high-precision weapons. «The armor of» Tosochka «is weaker than that of its predecessors, but it is capable of unleashing a powerful flurry of fire on the enemy's head,» adds the author of the material.
