Roskomnadzor requires Twitter to explain the reasons for blocking the Mosgorizbirkom account, these actions are regarded as interference in the elections, according to the agency's website. Earlier, information appeared on social networks that the official account of the Moscow City Election Commission on Twitter was allegedly blocked. The Moscow City Election Commission informed RIA Novosti that an old, inactive account has been blocked on Twitter, and the current one is working. In particular, the letter notes that the actions of the Twitter administration are regarded as foreign interference in the ongoing election campaign in Russia for the election of deputies of legislative bodies of state power. Voting in the Duma and other elections takes place this year from 17 to 19 September.
