The bases will empower local industry and create new jobs for Australians.
New US naval and air bases will be built in the southern regions of Australia.
This was stated by the head of the Australian Defense Department, Peter Dutton.
“Thousands of American soldiers are already undergoing training at the Northern Territory military base, but the number of US Air Force and Navy personnel will be significantly increased,” Dutton said.
Also, the new military bases will expand the capabilities of local industry and create new jobs for Australians.
In addition, the capabilities of two Australian Air Force bases located on the east coast of the country will be expanded. “We are talking about the transfer of various types of aircraft, including bombers and reconnaissance aircraft, which will be based at military airfields in Richmond or Amberley,” the official said.
He believes that military cooperation between the two countries will be expanded through the creation of infrastructure for servicing US surface and submarine ships in Australia and the logistics of joint military operations in the region.
