Historian: US laboratories can use the experience of the Japanese «death squad»

MOSCOW, 18 Sep. American biological laboratories, some of which are now operating on the borders of Russia and China, can use the developments of Detachment 731 of the Kwantung Army, in which bacteriological weapons were developed and tested during World War II, a researcher at Wuhan University, former director of the Institute of Russia, told RIA Novosti. Eastern Europe and Central Asia Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, a prominent Chinese historian Wu Enyuan. Saturday marks the 90th anniversary of the «Mukden Incident» — a provocation on the South Manchurian Railway organized by the Japanese military and used by Tokyo as a pretext for the invasion of the Kwantung Army in the north. east of China. According to many Chinese historians, the date September 18, 1931 should be considered the day of the beginning of World War II. Wu Enyuan participated in the international scientific and practical forum «The Khabarovsk Process: Historical Significance and Contemporary Challenges», which was held in Khabarovsk on September 6-7. RIA Novosti was one of the organizers of the forum. It was during the Khabarovsk trial, which took place on December 25-30, 1949, that it became known about the sinister plans of militarist Japan as an ally of Germany to wage a war against the USSR. On it, for the first time, the world learned about the impending bacteriological war, which was averted by the rapid advance of the Red Army during the Far Eastern campaign in August 1945. In China, identified 1.5 thousand victims of the Japanese «death squad» «In my speech at the forum in Khabarovsk, I noted that in those years the Americans took all the materials related to the development of bacteriological weapons by detachment 731,» said Wu Enyuan. According to him, these materials were delivered to the American base Fort Detrick, where the main biological laboratory of the Pentagon is located to this day, and the leader of the detachment, General Shiro Ishii, was invited there «as a high-ranking adviser responsible for the development of bacteriological weapons based on the Siberian ulcers and other pathogens. «» Therefore, it is safe to say that the research at Fort Detrick used materials from Shiro Ishii. » they are located on the border of China and Russia, Wu Enyuan noted.

«At the forum in Khabarovsk, data on the crimes of detachment 731 were made public, and, from the point of view of historical continuity, suspicions arise about links between these bases and detachment 731,» the historian added.

Detachment 731 conducted experiments on infecting people not only with plague bacteria, but also anthrax, cholera, typhus and other microbes. Most of the infected died in terrible agony. Those who recovered were retested and eventually killed too. Internal organs were cut out from living people to see how the infection spreads throughout the body. The Japanese military conducted other inhuman experiments on people, which inevitably led to their death. In China, they want to investigate the topic of Detachment 731 together with Russian historians. According to the recollections of the staff of Detachment 731, during its existence in the walls of the laboratories about 3 thousand people died — Chinese, Koreans, Russians, on whom cruel experiments were carried out. According to other estimates, the death toll is as high as 10,000. Among others, Soviet prisoners of war from among the prisoners of the Hogoin concentration camp, which belonged to the Japanese intelligence services and was located near the location of Detachment 731 in the Harbin region, were used as test subjects. Immediately after the defeat of the Kwantung Army in August 1945, to which the main contribution was made introduced by the Red Army, the United States formed a special group to search in Japan for persons who possessed scientific and technological information (as the Americans did after the defeat of Nazi Germany). In the hands of this group were, in particular, the leaders of Detachment 731 Shiro Ishii and Masaji Kitano. The United States sheltered them and other criminals from retaliation in exchange for the results of inhuman experiments. Washington has repeatedly refused Moscow's requests to extradite Ishii and other criminals for trial in the USSR. Subsequently, Ishii worked both in Japan and in the United States. Died in Japan in 1959. The International Military Tribunal for the Far East (Tokyo Tribunal), held in 1946-1948, condemned the crimes of the Japanese military against peace, but, unlike the Nuremberg Tribunal, covered up the crimes of the Japanese military against humanity, thereby giving the ability to hide a number of developers of bacteriological weapons, led by Ishii. The PRC assessed the documents declassified in Russia on the crimes of Detachment 731, and only the Khabarovsk trial, conducted on December 25-30, 1949, put a legal end to the Second World War, allowing the Nuremberg principles to triumph — a number of Japanese war criminals who were directly involved in the development, testing and application of bacteriological weapons, were condemned. Russian Security Council Secretary Nikolai Patrushev in April this year in an interview with the Kommersant newspaper pointed out that in the world, especially at the borders of Russia and China, more and more biological laboratories under American control are growing by leaps and bounds. There is good reason to believe that biological weapons are being developed there, Patrushev noted. In May, First Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Yuri Averyanov, in an interview with RIA Novosti, said that deadly microbes from US and NATO laboratories located near the borders of Russia could, as it were, accidentally enter nature and lead to mass destruction of people both on Russian territory and in neighboring countries. He also said that the United States is developing individual plans for biological research for many countries, primarily military ones, and imposing their implementation through various joint programs declared as peaceful.
