MOSCOW, 18 Sep. Retired Turkish general Erdogan Karakush told in which direction Ankara would strike in case of war with Greece. During political debates on CNN Turk, the military said that in the alleged conflict with a neighboring country, the main target of the ground operation would be the city of Thessaloniki. Greece, as an ally of the United States, provided its territory for the deployment of 20 American military bases. One of them is located near the city of Alexandroupolis in Thrace. According to Karakush, this outpost is fully equipped and ready to block the ground operation of the Turkish army. Athens, in turn, will seek to capture Istanbul, the military leader said.
