MOSCOW, 18 Sep. The Venezuelan authorities announced a «terrorist attack» on the country's financial system, in particular, it affected the platform of the main bank of Venezuela.
«The Venezuelan government … reports that today, on Friday, September 17, 2021, there was a terrorist attack on the national financial system, in particular on the technology platform of the Bank of Venezuela, the country's main banking institution,» the statement said.
As follows from the statement, as a result of the cyber attack, users could not access the bank's services and their accounts, as well as conduct transactions. The attack was stopped, now access to services is being restored, the authorities are guaranteeing citizens the integrity of all bank accounts and the safety of financial data. The country's prosecutor's office is investigating the incident.
