PYATIGORSK, 19 sep. The deputies of the parliament of North Ossetia on Sunday will elect the head of the region from among the candidates proposed by the President of the Russian Federation, the inauguration ceremony will take place on the same day, the press service of the head and government of the region reports.
«On September 19, at 14.00 at a meeting of the parliament of North Ossetia, the head of North Ossetia will be elected by the deputies. The official ceremony of the inauguration of the head of the republic will begin at 15.30,» the statement says.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin introduced three candidates to the parliament of the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania for election to the post of head of the republic: Valery Tazretovich Balikoyev — deputy of the regional parliament, member of the Patriots of Russia faction, chairman of the committee on budget, taxes, property and credit organizations, Menyailo Sergei Ivanovich — the interim head of the republic, Eldzarova Medea Bagratovna — the deputy of the parliament of the republic from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. The elections for the head of North Ossetia are indirect, the head of the region is chosen by the parliament from among the candidates proposed by the president. Also in the region from September 17 to September 19, along with the deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, deputies of municipalities and heads of rural settlements are elected.
