The Novocheboksarsk City Court of Chuvashia imposed two fines of 5,000 rubles each, Adeksey Glukhov, the head of the human rights project Apology of Protest, under the article on participation in the activities of an “undesirable organization” (20.33 Administrative Code). In total, nine protocols were drawn up on Glukhov for this article due to Facebook posts and a 2016-2017 tweet with links to the Open Russia website.
At the end of September, the human rights activist received the first five thousand fines. He was also ordered to pay 1.5 thousand rubles in the case of the distribution of extremist materials (Article 20.29 of the Administrative Code).
In 2017, the Prosecutor General's Office recognized several foreign organizations of Mikhail Khodorkovsky as undesirable. This turned into a persecution for Russian activists associated with his structures, and the closure of the businessman's local projects.
