Russian skiers won the relay at the World Cup in Norway


MOSCOW, 5 Dec. The first Russian women's national ski team won the stage of the World Cup in Lillehammer, Norway. Athletes covered the distance in 54 minutes 40.6 seconds. Yulia Stupak, Natalya Nepryaeva, Tatyana Sorina and Veronika Stepanova ran as part of the Russian team. The first two stages of the skiers overcame the classic style, the last two – free. The second place was taken by the Swedish team (with a lag of 1.1 seconds), the third were the Norwegians (+1.2). The second Russian team finished the race in eighth position (+1.56.5). Yana Kirpichenko, Anastasia Fadeeva, Anastasia Rygalina and Maria Istomina ran for her. The men's relay was also held on Sunday. The second Russian team finished with silver, the first team finished fourth, and the next relay will take place in February at the Beijing Olympics. The next stage of the World Cup will take place in Davos, Switzerland on December 11-12.
