Čeferin pleaded guilty to UEFA in the situation with the re-draw of the Champions League

ST. PETERSBURG, December 16, Taras Barabash. Head of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) Aleksandr Čeferin pleaded guilty to the re-draw of the Champions League round of 16, noting that UEFA should be less dependent on technology. The draw ceremony took place on Monday 13 December in Nyon, Switzerland, but had to for a technical error that occurred during the draw. The original results of the draw were canceled, after which a new one was held. Many clubs were unhappy with this situation – for example, Real Madrid, which instead of the original version with Benfica Lisbon fell to the French Paris Saint-Germain. “Something went wrong with the software. This is UEFA's fault. “We understand that this is our mistake. We should not be so dependent on technology. We should rely less on technology. We apologize, but mistakes happen. This is not a mistake of a living person,” Čeferin told reporters.
