Prime Minister of Ukraine commented on Poroshenko's treason case

KYIV, 21 Dec. Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmyhal, commenting on suspicions of treason against ex-President Petro Poroshenko, expressed his confidence that everything goes within the framework of the law. Ukrainian law enforcement officers suspect Poroshenko of high treason in the case of coal supplies from Donbass. Poroshenko is now abroad, but according to the head of the headquarters of the European Solidarity party Alexander Turchinov, the ex-president will definitely return to Ukraine.

& # 34; This is the work of law enforcement agencies, let's wait for the results, we'll see … I'm sure that law enforcement authorities absolutely legally do their job & # 34; – said Shmygal on the air of the program & # 34; Freedom of speech & # 34; on the ICTV channel on Monday evening.

He also expressed confidence that everything is happening within the framework of the current legislation. Poroshenko first became a suspect of treason and aiding in terrorism in the case of coal supplies from Donbass, but this is not the first criminal case against him. In November, the ex-president said that a total of 130 criminal cases had been opened against him, but about 40 of them were later closed. So, Poroshenko has the status of a suspect in a criminal case on the appointment of Sergei Semochko as deputy head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine – he is charged with abuse of power. The ex-president appears in a number of other cases, including on the appointment of judges, on the movement of paintings across the state border, on the incident with Ukrainian ships in the Kerch Strait, on the transfer of a land plot – in these cases he has the status of a witness.
