MOSCOW, Jan 2 Russian bobsledders Anastasia Makarova and Elena Mamedova became the fifth in the doubles competition at the World Cup in Sigulda, Latvia. The victory was won by the Americans Elana Myers-Taylor and Lake Quaza, who in total for two attempts showed a time of 1 minute 41.88 seconds. Britain's Mika McNeill and Adele Nicholl are in second place (0.22 seconds back), while Canada's Christine de Brune and Kristen Buinovski are in third (+0.24). Makarova and Mamedova lost 0.51 seconds. Russian Lyubov Chernykh and Alexandra Tarasova took 10th place (+0.89), sharing the lead after the first attempt, Nadezhda Sergeeva and Yulia Belomestnykh — 15th (+ 2.36).
