MOSCOW, Jan 2 The Russian team took sixth place in the relay at the Cup stage Luge World Championship in Winterberg, Germany. The winner was the Latvian team, showing a time of 2 minutes 24.294 seconds. The second place was taken by the Austrian national team (0.358 seconds back), the third — by the USA team (+0.508). The Russians lost 1.513 seconds, Viktoria Demchenko, Roman Repilov and two — Alexander Denisiev and Vladislav Antonov played for the national team. Previously, the competition for women was held, the German Yulia Taubitz won (1 minute 53.167 seconds). On the second line is her compatriot Natalie Geisenberger (+0.241), on the third — the Austrian Madeleine Egle (+0.256). Demchenko finished ninth (+0.663), Ekaterina Katnikova, who was third after the first attempt, was 11th (+0.761).
