In mid-November, a draft order was published on the KSCA website to revise tariffs for municipal public transport in Kiev. It was assumed that the price of tickets from January 2022 will rise from UAH 8 to UAH 20 per trip.
This decision was called forced by the city administration of the capital, since the rise in energy prices poses a threat to the stable and safe operation of transport. For the same reason, during the summer and autumn, fares were raised in many Ukrainian cities (Chernigov, Lvov, Nikolaev, Zaporozhye, etc.).
Tariffs were fixed until the end of the heating season
A possible increase in ticket prices by more than 2 times caused a wide response. The very next day after the appearance of the draft decree, the mayor Vitali Klitschko promised that & nbsp; tariffs would not be raised until the end of the heating season.
According to the mayor of Kiev, the city found itself in a difficult economic situation due to rising energy prices. To avoid an increase in prices for heating and hot water, more than 2 billion hryvnias were compensated from the city budget.
However, according to Klitschko, the entire budget cannot be spent on subsidies, so the local authorities were faced with a choice & # 8212; increase utility bills or the price of travel.
The head of the Kyiv City State Administration noted that although the issue of the cost of travel in Kiev was brought up for discussion & # 8212; it's just a project. The revision of tariffs should not be expected until the end of the heating season at the end of April.
Ticket price & # 8212; up to 20 hryvnia
The draft tariff increase proposes to set the cost of tickets for travel on the metro, tram, trolleybus, public bus up to UAH 20 per trip.
All existing & nbsp; travel benefits remain & nbsp; & # 8212; for veterans, children of war, pensioners, liquidators of the Chernobyl accident, large families.
Travel by & # 171; Card of Kiev & # 187; & nbsp; is estimated to be 12 UAH. It can be used by residents of the city with a residence permit in Kiev, migrants from the ATO/OOS zone, students of city educational institutions, privileged categories of the population, people who work in the capital.
According to Vitali Klitschko, residents of the Kiev region will be able to buy travel card. On it, the cost of one trip & # 8212; 14 UAH.
It is also possible to save on the cost of a ticket when buying at least 10 trips on an electronic ticket. At the moment, the fare when replenishing the card for 50 trips & # 8212; 6.5 UAH per trip, and after the increase the cost will be 15 UAH.

Travel passes for schoolchildren and students will be cheaper. Unlimited School Pass & # 8212; 747.5 UAH, student & # 8212; 1495 UAH.
A short-term travel card in public transport in Kiev for 24 hours will cost 250 UAH, for two days & # 8212; 375 UAH, for three days & # 8212; UAH 500.
