According to Tokayev, during the work of the previous government

The President placed “special blame for allowing a protest situation” in connection with the increase in prices for liquefied gas on the government, in particular, on the Ministry of Energy. And also at the Kazmunaygaz and Kazakgaz companies.
Tokayev criticized the implementation of his order for the construction of a new gas plant in the Mangistau region, given in June 2021. Also, the President of Kazakhstan noted the lack of a systematic approach to reforming the industry.
