KYIV, Jan 8 Political advisers of France and Germany in the Normandy format talks on settlement in the Donbass will come to Kiev next week, said on Saturday the head of the office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak. «And next week my colleagues from France and Germany, political advisers to the leaders of the countries participating in the Normandy format, will come to Kiev,» Ermak wrote on his Facebook page. At the same time, he noted that he had talked with the adviser to the German Chancellor on foreign policy Jens Platner and the diplomatic adviser to the French President Emmanuel Bonn. «We agreed to continue coordinating our actions in the context of the current situation,» Yermak said. Zelensky called on the US Senate to support measures against Nord Stream 2. Karen Donfried with the US on European and Eurasian issues, with whom they discussed the current situation around the Ukrainian borders and security aspects. The «Normandy format» of negotiations on Ukraine has existed since June 2014. Then, during the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the landing of the Allied troops in Normandy, the leaders of Germany, Russia, Ukraine and France for the first time discussed the settlement of the conflict in Donbass. The previous summit was held in Paris on December 9, 2019. Recently, the parties at different levels have been discussing the prospects for interaction in this format.
