Psychological and psychiatric examination recognized the sane student Timur Bekmansurov, who arranged the shooting at the Perm State University (PGNIU). Chairman of the Investigative Committee Alexander Bastrykin spoke about this in an interview with RIA Novosti.
On September 20 last year, an 18-year-old first-year student from Perm State National Research University Bekmansurov came to the campus with a smooth-bore gun. He opened fire while still in the street, and then went inside and continued to shoot.
As a result, six people died, and more than 40 were injured — some were injured due to jumping out of windows. Before the attack, Bekmansurov left a post on VKontakte that “only a few of [people] deserve to exist.”
During the arrest, the attacker was wounded, and part of his left leg was amputated in the hospital. After being discharged in mid-October, Bekmansurov was placed in a pre-trial detention center (part 2 of article 105 of the Criminal Code) on charges of murder, attempted murder and encroachment on the life of the traffic police inspector who detained him (paragraphs «a», «e» of part 2 of article 105, part 3 of article 30, paragraphs «a», «e» of part 2 of article 105, article 317 of the Criminal Code).
Investigators said that Bekmansurov was sent for examination to the St. Petersburg psychiatric hospital No. 6.
