Minister of Defense of Lithuania Arvydas Anushauskas MOSCOW, 13 January Minister of Defense of Lithuania Arvydas Anushauskas at an informal meeting EU Defense Ministers proposed to create an EU military mission in Ukraine. «An EU military advisory and training mission would be a powerful sign of EU support for Ukraine and a chance to clearly show that the EU can act reliably in the security sphere,» Anushauskas said on the website of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense. According to the Lithuanian Defense Ministry, the establishment of an EU military mission in Ukraine will be discussed at the next meeting of defense ministers in March. Kiev and Western states have recently expressed concern about the alleged increase in «aggressive actions» by Russia near Ukraine's borders. Russia has repeatedly denied accusations of «aggressive actions» by the West and Ukraine, stating that it does not threaten anyone and does not intend to attack anyone, and statements about «Russian aggression» are used as an excuse to deploy more NATO military equipment near Russian borders. The Russian Foreign Ministry previously noted that the West's statements about «Russian aggression» and the opportunity to help Kiev defend itself against it are both funny and dangerous.
