TALLINN, 12 Jan, Andrey Simonenko. Russian sports couple Anastasia Mishina/Alexander Gallyamov set a new world record in short program points at the European Figure Skating Championships in Tallinn, with 82.36 points, surpassing the previous achievement, which also belonged to Russians Alexandra Boykova and Dmitry Kozlovsky, by 0.02 points. With this result Mishina and Gallyamov took the lead after the short program. The second and third places are taken by Russians Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov (81.58) and Boykova with Kozlovsky (76.26), respectively. Tarasova and Morozov took the first place on the ice of the Tondiraba arena. The parallel jump, which has often become a stumbling block this season, has worked for them. But the blowout came out with a small blot. If not for her, it is very likely that the world record would have really fallen. And so only the personal record of the skaters themselves fell — they surpassed it by 0.37 points, followed by Boykova and Kozlovsky to perform the short program. The partner, even before the start of the rental, decided to make a warm-up jump, but suddenly fell. It is possible that this trouble became the reason that Boykova performed only two revolutions in a parallel jump at the box office itself. After that, it was not up to the world record, but everything worked out in the short program for Mishina and Gallyamov: the parallel jump, and the throw, and everything else. Only two hundredths of a point — but the world record was broken. Of course, the world champions took the lead. However, the fight for gold is not over, unlike the fight for a place on the podium, where no one can squeeze the Russians 99 percent. Sports couples will present an arbitrary program on Thursday.
