The imposition of US sanctions against the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin would be an outrageous measure, comparable to breaking off relations. According to Peskov, the draft of new anti-Russian sanctions proposed in the US Congress is & #171;an attempt to put pressure on Moscow».
«It is a priori meaningless, because we are talking about sanctions, which, in their essence and taking into account the inevitable adequate response, can actually be equated with an initiative to break relations. These formulations cannot be interpreted except in this way», — Putin's spokesman said.
Recall that a bill on new sanctions against Russia has been submitted to the United States Senate. Economic restrictions will be introduced in case of Russian invasion of Ukraine.
