MOSCOW, Jan 14 More than 62,000 animals have died due to prolonged drought in the Manyara region in northern Tanzania, according to Xinhua News Agency, citing local authorities. According to Sendeu Laiser, deputy head of the Shimanjiro County Council, 62,585 animals, including cattle, sheep and goats, have become victims of a prolonged drought. Laiser stressed that the drought is forcing livestock farmers to move to areas where there is a relative supply of water and grass for grazing.
