Suspicion of high treason was announced to Medvedchuk in the fall of 2021.
The SBI does not rule out cross-examination of Petro Poroshenko and Viktor Medvedchuk. Both politicians are defendants in the so-called «coal case» Tatyana Sapyan said that if necessary, it can take place. The Code of Criminal Procedure does not exclude such a possibility.
If there is an appropriate base and there is a need, then the investigators will collect the relevant evidence and invite the mentioned people for cross-examination,
Sapyan stressed.
Poroshenko was charged with suspicion
- In December 2021, the fifth President of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, was charged with high treason. The case refers to the supply of coal from the occupied territories.
- Poroshenko was then in Poland. The politician announced his return on January 17.
- Now the interests of Poroshenko are represented by experienced lawyers. According to the Unified State Register of Declarations, Poroshenko has already paid them more than 10 million hryvnias.
Note! Medvedchuk was informed of suspicion of high treason in the fall of 2021. The godfather of Kremlin head Vladimir Putin is suspected of conspiring with Ukrainian officials to disrupt a contract for the supply of coal from South Africa.
