Earlier, Ukrainian Ambassador to Berlin Andriy Melnyk, in an interview with the Funke media group, called on Berlin to abandon the existing policy on defense exports and supply defense weapons to Ukraine, otherwise threatening the consequences for bilateral relations. «A strong foreign policy is manifested in clear positions. Therefore, what I said a couple of weeks and months ago does not change depending on which country I visit. On the contrary, the position of the German federal government, namely, the restrictive defense export policy is not only known, but it is also based on historical experience.We talked about it m in our negotiations — about the various historical responsibilities that we bear. That is why I say now: Germany's contribution in terms of supporting Ukraine, its security, our cooperation is very diverse,» she said at a press conference with her Ukrainian colleague Dmytro Kuleba in Kiev. She recalled, in particular, that the Ukrainian military is being treated in Germany, Berlin also helped with the construction of a military hospital in Ukraine.
