Archival photoMOSCOW, January 17Removal of the bill on QR codes from consideration will have a positive impact on the work of restaurants in Russia, and its adoption, on the contrary, could increase the number of cases, Sergey, Ombudsman for the Moscow restaurant business, told RIA Novosti Mironov. Earlier on Monday, the State Duma Council unanimously withdrew from consideration the bill on QR codes in public places. «This is the right step, because QR codes would not give anything in relation to restaurants,» Mironov said. He noted that if QR codes were introduced in restaurants, it would be a big mistake. The Ombudsman believes that restaurants are much safer than many other places where people gather. «In many regions, and in particular in Moscow, almost 100% of employees are vaccinated. It is much safer to come to a restaurant: vaccinated employees, ventilation system, everything is processed. And if a person cannot come to a restaurant, then he goes to visit someone, where there is neither ventilation nor processing facilities,» he said.
