On January 14, Volodin announced that the bill on QR codes would be withdrawn from consideration for revision. In November, the government proposed the introduction of QR codes on transport and in public places to combat the coronavirus. The amendments caused mass dissatisfaction among the Russians, and both bills were not considered in the end.
