So he answered the question of deputy Irina Yarovaya about how the traffic police can technically record dangerous driving on the roads and how it evaluates its resources in this context. Last December, President Vladimir Putin signed a law introducing punishment for aggressive driving into the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. Such driving is understood as exceeding the speed limit by 60 or more kilometers per hour, driving into the oncoming lane or tram tracks in the opposite direction (with the exception of cases of bypassing an obstacle). A prerequisite is that the violator has previously been subjected to administrative punishment more than once and deprived of his rights for any of the similar offenses. Reckless drivers now face up to three years in prison with a ban on certain activities for up to six years. A fine of 300,000 to 500,000 rubles, or in the amount of the convict's wages of two to three years, may also be issued. 38The law on criminal liability for reckless drivers came into force
