PETERSBURG, Jan 19Eugen Schmidt, a Bundestag deputy from the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, told RIA Novosti that Germany could offer Russia nothing but a dialogue on European security. German Foreign Minister Annalena Burbock, after talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, told reporters that in Berlin are ready to engage in a serious dialogue with Russia about mutual steps that will strengthen common European security.
"What can Germany really offer besides dialogue on this issue? It is no coincidence that Russia turned to the United States, bypassing their European satellites, to establish new security rules on the European continent", the deputy believes.
According to Schmidt, there are still differences in the German coalition government over the approach to Russia.
