A third of Russians (31%) believe that religion should not be in school. This figure increased by 12 p.p. compared with February 2016, follows from the data of the Levada Center * (available to Novaya Gazeta).
More than half of the respondents (56%) agree that students can study the history of religion and the foundations of religious morality at school, if they wish or if their parents wish. 11% of survey participants are sure that the teaching of the Law of God for all comers should be restored in secondary schools. «» />
At the same time, a poll by the Levada Center showed that half of Russians define themselves as religious people. Of these, 7% of the country's inhabitants consider themselves very religious, 43% — to some extent religious. Sociologists note that this indicator has remained unchanged since June 2017.

New Year is celebrated by 91% of respondents, Orthodox Christmas and Epiphany — by 59% and 50% respectively. Catholic Christmas is celebrated by 6% of respondents.
Now, according to Levada, 29% of Russians believe that the church and religious organizations have a great influence on state policy in Russia. In February 2016, only 17% thought so.
