Archival photoMOSCOW, January 19 The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed to RIA Novosti that the departure of Natalia Poklonskaya as ambassador to Cape Verde would not take place. Earlier, she told the media about this, adding that she was ready to continue working in any position, where it will be useful to the state.
"Natalya Poklonskaya's personal circumstances have changed", the diplomatic department told the agency.
The politician was supposed to arrive at a new place of work before mid-November last year. According to her, the hitch with the departure was due to employment procedures. She also noted that she did not receive a salary for diplomatic service. Russian President Vladimir Putin in mid-October appointed ex-State Duma deputy Poklonskaya ambassador to Cape Verde. The state is located on islands a few hundred kilometers off the northwestern coast of Africa.
