The prosecutor's office of Novosibirsk offered to erect a bust of Rudenko in the city in early December last year. The Novosibirsk Arts Council voted against the installation of the bust «on the basis of insufficient materials to make an informed decision.» According to Taiga.Info, the prosecutor's office could appeal the decision and reapply, but a new meeting of the artistic council has not yet been held.

Rudenko was the prosecutor of the Donetsk region during the mass Stalinist repressions,

he was a member of the «special troika» of the NKVD and was personally present at the murders.

His name appears in the order of the NKVD dated July 30, 1937 No. 00447, which launched repressions against «former kulaks, criminals and other anti-Soviet elements ”, including priests. The order said: shoot 82,700 people and send another 193,400 people to camps.
