MOSCOW, Jan 20 The State Duma adopted a government bill at a plenary session on Thursday giving the heirs the right to challenge paternity in court.» The bill provides that the entry about the father of the child in the birth record book, made by virtue of paragraph 2 of Article 51 of the Family Code of the Russian Federation (which provides that if the parents are not married to each other, the entry about the mother child is made at the request of the mother, and the record of the father of the child — at the joint application of the father and mother of the child, or at the request of the father of the child, or the father is recorded according to a court decision), may be challenged in court also at the request of the heir of the person recorded as the father child,» follows from the explanatory note.
