The first vice speaker of the lower house of parliament, Alexander Zhukov, said earlier that the average pension would eventually amount to 18,984 rubles. Prior to this, Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the government to recalculate the indexation taking into account real, not projected, inflation.
Additional spending on pension indexation in 2022 will amount to 170 billion rubles. Also, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin noted earlier that the norm will be retroactive and will work from January 1, 2022. «The necessary funds are in the budget,» he added. Insurance pensions have already increased by 5.9 percent since January 1, in accordance with the forecast of the Ministry of Economic Development, according to which inflation was expected at 5.8 percent last year. But in fact, it turned out to be higher than the forecast — 8.4 percent.
