The updated rules for entering Egypt are designed to make life easier for tourists, while one of the reasons for their entry was false vaccination documents or with the results of tests for coronavirus in some tourists, Deputy Minister of Tourism of Egypt Gada Shalyabi told RIA Novosti. She noted that the goal of the authorities when introducing new rules is to simplify entry into the country, and not complicate or impose additional costs on vacation.
"For some tourists, the certificates do not meet the standards of the Egyptian Ministry of Health, or they have an unreadable QR code, or they are questionable, or they are fake. Only in this case will an express test be carried out, if it is negative, then the tourist will easily enter the country", Shalyabi emphasized.
According to the deputy minister, rapid tests are cheaper than PCR tests, which will also simplify the travel of tourists. Egyptian authorities have updated the entry rules to the country, they come into effect on January 22.
