Eleven deputies of the State Duma from the Communist Party faction — Gennady Zyuganov, Ivan Melnikov, Vladimir Kashin, Nikolai Kolomeitsev, Yuri Afonin, Dmitry Novikov, Leonid Kalashnikov and others — submitted a draft resolution of the State Duma No. 58243-8 “On the appeal of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation “To the President of the Russian Federation V.V. Putin on the need to recognize the Donetsk People’s Republic and the Luhansk People’s Republic.”
The authors of the appeal call this recognition “justified and morally justified”, stating that “over the past years, democratic bodies and states with all the attributes of legitimate power have been built in the republics on the basis of the will of the people.”
Therefore, the president is invited to “consider the issue of recognition by the Russian Federation of the DPR and LPR as independent, sovereign and independent states.
Which «will create grounds for ensuring the security guarantees and protection of their peoples from external threats and the implementation of a policy of genocide, as well as for strengthening international peace and regional stability, and will initiate the process of international recognition of both states.»
Ukrainian authorities at the same time called «glorifying the fascists and their followers.»
I agree with my friend Lev Shlosberg: this project fits perfectly into the military-political doctrine of Vladimir Putin in relation to Ukraine, which he outlined in July in the article “On the historical unity of Russians and Ukrainians”, which, in fact, denies the political subjectivity of Ukraine, the legitimacy of its borders and the right to full state sovereignty. And it is a logical part of public preparations for Russia's military invasion of Ukraine, offering to provide this invasion with political support and cover for the federal parliament.
In other words, the project is direct preparation for war.
Yes, I would like to believe that the war will not happen and that we are only facing a new stage of the political “psychic attack”. Although the concentration of propaganda hatred against Ukraine on the Kremlin TV channels and the number of belligerent statements against the once fraternal country have reached a dangerous limit, beyond which any accident can become fatal and lead to irreversible consequences. This is the first.

And secondly, those “rulers of democratic thoughts” who, before the autumn elections to the State Duma, called for voting in accordance with the recommendations of “smart voting”, that is, in the overwhelming majority of cases, for candidates from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, and sometimes — from «Fair Russia».
In the list of support for «smart voting» it is not difficult to find one of the authors of this appeal to Putin — State Duma deputy from the Communist Party Leonid Kalashnikov.
And in this the list includes the current State Duma deputies from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation: Alexander Yushchenko, Boris Ivanyuzhenkov, Oleg Smolin, Olga Alimova, Valery Rashkin, Denis Parfyonov, Sergey Obukhov …
All of them initiated or voted for the monstrous laws on “foreign agents” and “undesirable organizations”, on “insulting the feelings of believers”, on the prohibition of foreign adoption (“Dima Yakovlev’s law”), on the rejection of the priority of international law, supported or introduced other repressive laws. And they introduced a law on the installation of a monument to Stalin and the renaming of Volgograd to Stalingrad.
This appeal to Putin has already been supported by the leader of the Socialist-Revolutionary faction, Sergei Mironov. At the same time, a number of representatives of his party, including the current State Duma deputies Aleksey Chepa, Fedot Tumusov, Oleg Nilov, Valery Gartung, Anatoly Lisitsyn, Elena Drapeko, were also supported by «smart voting», although they had previously introduced or voted for the laws listed above.
Moreover, Aleksey Chepa was the initiator of the law depriving everyone of the right to be elected who supported Aleksey Navalny and his structures in any way or «was involved in the activities of extremist organizations»! It was under this law that Lev Shlosberg and a number of other opposition politicians were not allowed to vote, but this did not prevent the organizers of the “smart vote” from including him in the list of support as an alleged “alternative” to United Russia.
So, it’s not worth it be surprised that “cleverly” supported deputies, who previously voted in unison with United Russia for repressive laws, are now proposing to recognize as “independent” the territories of a neighboring country where a rebellion supported by Russia was unleashed. One should be surprised if they behaved differently.
