According to preliminary information, the fire occurred as a result of unauthorized ignition of the stove, which was used to heat the room. While extinguishing the flames, rescuers found the body of a one-year-old child. Two more children were saved.
Law enforcement officers detained a mother of many children. She was informed of the suspicion under the article on leaving in danger (part 3 of article 135 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment for a term of three to eight years. The court has already chosen a preventive measure for the girl in the form of detention.
