MOSCOW, January 21. Olympic champion Alina Zagitova spoke about the meeting with the Ambassador of Japan in Russia Toyohisa Kozuki. As part of the reception, the figure skater and the diplomat exchanged gifts — Zagitova presented Kozuki with handmade soap.
"Yesterday I had a meeting with the Ambassador of Japan and his wife. It was a great honor for me to receive an invitation from Toyohisa Kozuki and to talk in person again. Japan is an amazing country and I am a huge fan of it! There I am greeted with special warmth! And how good it is that our countries maintain friendly relations! The evening passed sincerely, at home! Dinner had my favorite Japanese dishes! We exchanged gifts and Toyohisa Kozuki was pleasantly surprised by my handmade soap",” Zagitova wrote on Instagram.

The figure skater noted that her meeting with the ambassador could not have passed without Masaru, Zagitova's dog, which she received as a gift from former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. The athlete also expressed the hope that she will soon be able to visit Japan.
