The Dow Jones index lost 5.1% over the week, the S&P 500 — 5.7%, the NASDAQ electronic exchange — 7.55%. For the last two indices, this decline was the largest since March 2020.
Kommersant writes that the S&P 500 and NASDAQ were affected by a drop in Netflix shares by almost 22% amid the publication of financial statements for the fourth quarter and throughout 2021. The indices were also affected by the possible tightening of monetary policy by the US Federal Reserve System — its meeting is scheduled for next week.
This week there was also a decline in the Moscow Exchange index. It fell 6.5% and reached its lowest level since April 2021. This collapse was the largest since the beginning of the pandemic.
