Symptoms of «Omicron»
According to reports based on confirmed cases of the new strain, the most common symptoms in patients with coronavirus are:
- runny nose — 73%;
- headaches — 67.5%
- Increased fatigue — 63.5%;
- sneezing — 60%;
- sore throat — 59.6%.
At the same time, as noted in the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health, when infected with «Omicron» there were no significant differences from the symptoms of the «Delta» strain, which currently dominates in Ukraine. Among the main manifestations are:
- cough — 43.5%;
- hoarse voice — 35.7%;
- chills or shivering — 30%;
- fever — 29.4%;
- loss or distortion of smell and/or taste — 23.7%.
As doctors note, despite the fact that the symptoms of «Omicron» seem like a common cold, the strain can also cause serious health effects, hospitalizations and deaths. The new option is especially dangerous for those who have not completed at least a basic course of vaccination against coronavirus.
