MOSCOW, January 25, Sergey Pogrebnyak. Former president of Spartak Moscow Andrey Chervichenko said that fans will continue to go to football matches, despite the introduction of a fan ID (Fan ID). Earlier, fan associations of several Russian Premier League (RPL) clubs said they would boycott matches due to the introduction of a Fan ID, which will be required to attend sports events. Presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday that it was necessary to establish a dialogue with fan associations and carry out explanatory work.
"I don’t know why such hysteria was raised. In my opinion, the question is not worth such a heated debate. After all, everyone buys tickets when they go to the cinema, and no one is outraged by this. Passports are shown on trains and planes. What if there is a terrorist attack or something else? A lot of questions. I think that this hysteria was simply inflated by journalists", — said Chervichenko.
«If everyone scored on the cries of these zealous fans, then everything would be calm. They will all walk like cute They’ll shout a little, and then they’ll still go to get a Fan ID,” Chervichenko added. Fan ID is a football fan identification system designed to provide spectators with a comfortable passage to the stadium. Previously, the system was used at the 2017 Confederation Cup, the 2018 World Cup, as well as at Euro 2021 matches in Russia.
