The Tverskoy District Court of Moscow arrested National Bolshevik Alexander Rybkin for 14 days because of the logo of the unregistered party «The Other Russia of Eduard Limonov» with a lemon. This was reported by his associates.
Rybkin was detained yesterday and left for the night in the police. A protocol was drawn up against him on the demonstration of the symbols of an extremist organization because of the logo with a lemon grenade crossed out by lightning (Article 20.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). The logo was in the news release «Other News» on the party's YouTube channel, hosted by Rybkin.
Earlier, the police have already pursued the National Bolsheviks because of the lemon logo. Interior Ministry officials claimed that it was “confusingly similar” to the logo of the Limonka newspaper published by the NBP, which did not have a lightning bolt.
In January, the National Bolsheviks held a rally in the Moscow metro demanding “to protect the Russian-speaking population of Kazakhstan” after the outbreak of protests in the country. The protesters were arrested. Soon, the police came to their Moscow headquarters, and more than ten activists detained then were also arrested.
In 2007, the court recognized the National Bolshevik Party as extremist and banned its work in Russia. The National Bolsheviks then established a new party, The Other Russia, but the Ministry of Justice repeatedly refused to register them. After the verdict on the activists in Chelyabinsk, who were found guilty of creating a “cell of the NBP”, they announced their self-dissolution and created the “Other Russia of E.V. Limonov».
